Pittsburg Man Shot In Neck By Relative
PITTSBURG (BCN) ―
A man in his 20s is in stable condition Sunday evening after being shot in the neck by a relative while driving in Pittsburg earlier Sunday, a police lieutenant said.
Officers responded Diane Avenue near California Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. and found the man injured in his car, which the man had crashed into three parked vehicles after he was shot, Pittsburg police Lt. Jim Calia said.
The victim told police he and the suspect had been driving in separate cars on California Avenue when the suspect started firing rounds at the victim, according to Calia.
The two had reportedly been arguing for the past several weeks, although Calia could not disclose what the argument was about.
One of the rounds struck the victim in the neck, causing the victim to swerve his car onto Diane Avenue and into the parked vehicles, Calia said.
The victim's car stopped moving after it caused a van to overturn, and came to rest in front of the Church of Christ at 283 Diane Ave., according to Calia.
The suspect, a 24-year-old man, fled the scene and remains outstanding, Calia said.
The victim was transported to John Muir Medical Center and was listed in stable condition, according to Calia.
