Former Cal, Rutgers QBs Suing Electronic Arts
REDWOOD CITY (CBS 5 / AP) ―
Former Cal football quarterback Troy Taylor and former Rutgers quarterback Ryan Hart are suing the world's leading interactive entertainment software company.
Taylor and Hart allege Redwood City-based Electronic Arts used their likeness in its NCAA Football video game without his permission.
Taylor played football at the University of California and was quarterback with the New York Jets from 1990 to 1991. Taylor is now a radio analyst for Cal football games.
Hart quarterbacked for the Scarlet Knights from 2002 to 2005.
Hart and Taylor claim the use of their likenesses was an invasion of privacy for commercial purpose.
The senior public relations manager for EA Sports says Electronic Arts, the NCAA and Collegiate Licensing Company have reviewed the complaint and don't believe the claims have merit.
