She has lived away from home since she was 16, determined to remove herself from her mother's crystal meth addiction and father's alcohol abuse. She married her husband Joshua, who served in Iraq until his building was hit with a missile. Now, she has two children and is marketing her product, the Bathing Buddies Shower Sling.

He has been working to teach the villagers health education. A big problem in Uganda is malaria, which Zac deals with by using a mosquito net and getting antimalarial shots. He also helps to distribute these nets to villages. Zac will spend one more year in Uganda as a volunteer.

Eventually, she was placed in foster care, and continued to do well. She chose to attend Yale University. Since becoming a college student, she has dedicated herself to foster care reform and supporting students in similar situations.
