USF Beats Texas State 88-74 In Hawaii Classic
HONOLULU (AP) ―
Dior Lowhorn scored 26 points and collected 13 rebounds to lead the University of San Francisco to an 88-74 win over Texas State on Sunday at the Verizon Wireless Tip-Off Classic.
Kwame Vaughn added 17 points, Manny Quezada had 15 and Blake Wallace 12 for USF, which shot 49 percent from the field.
Brent Benson led Texas St. with 12 points.
Brandon Bush added 11 points, and Emmanuel Bidias A. Moute and Tre Nicholas had 10 apiece for the Bobcats.
San Francisco, trailing 42-41 at halftime, opened the second half on a 10-2 run to seize a 51-43 lead, which they would not relinquish.
The Dons (2-0) led by as many as 17 late in the game.
The Bobcats (1-1) were outscored 47-32 in the final 20 minutes.
