Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."


THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Nick and Phyllis watch Jack's resignation speech on TV.  Jack and Sharon let Noah know about Jack resigning from the Senate and why.  Nick informs Sharon that Jack was a hero for saving them in the rubble. Nick can see how much Jack loves her.  Sharon agrees, but it's still hard for her to forgive him for all of the lies he has told her.  Sharon confesses to Nick that she is thinking about leaving Jack, but knows she can't do it before Christmas.  Nick promises to help make this a very happy Christmas for Noah, no matter what.

Phyllis meets Jack for a drink.  Jack doesn't understand how Gloria tracked down Todd, John's cell mate, and got that letter from John. Later, Phyllis is speaking with Nick and realizes that she gave Todd's phone number to Jana.  Jana must have given it to Gloria. Gloria is speechless that Jeff asks her to marry him.  Jeff doesn't think it matters if she doesn't love him. A loveless marriage is better than being locked up in jail. Gloria explains to Kevin that Jeff proposed to her. If Gloria marries Jeff he'll keep quiet about the face cream.  She knows that's not how it will happen. Jeff will go to the cops and then spend all of her inheritance while she rots away in jail.

Later, Gloria reveals to Kevin that she must marry Jeff Bardwell in order to protect herself. Daniel helps Lily reboot her computer so that she can enter the "Faces of Jabot" contest.  Amber gets jealous. Amber boasts to Daniel that her "Marina" alter ego will definitely sweep the competition. Lily and Cane chat and share childhood stories at the GCAC.  When Cane leaves, Lily exclaims to Colleen that she thinks Cane really does care.



THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Ridge gives Brooke an ultimatum. Brooke must choose either him, or Nick and Baby Jack.  Brooke becomes extremely upset when Ridge lets it slip that he discussed the donor mix up with Ashley.  Nick blindsides Taylor by suggesting that they invite Ridge and Brooke to Baby Jack's christening.  Taylor refuses to allow Brooke to have a greater role in their lives than what she already has.  After overhearing a phone call from Nick to Brooke, Ashley goes to the Shady Marlin II. Taylor witnesses Nick and Brooke locked in an emotional embrace.  


AS THE WORLD TURNS

With Noah's help, Luke walks. Luke wants Noah to spend Christmas break at the farm. Emma has a bad reaction to the idea of Luke and Noah sharing a room. Emma tells Holden she thinks she made a mistake with Luke. Luke hints that he's ready to be intimate with Noah. Emma invites Noah to stay, albeit with a few ground rules.

Aaron learns Cole has left Sofie. Sofie tells Aaron she doesn't want his help and kicks him out. Will encourages Gwen not to give up on the idea of adopting. Alison feels she's to blame for Gwen and Will not getting their baby. Later, Gwen tells Sofie she wants to apologize.

Paul learns about Barbara's role in duping Will, Gwen and Sofie and says he won't help her with Will. With her own guilt weighing on her, Rosanna tells Barbara sometimes people do unimaginable things for those they love. Later, Rosanna pays Eli for the videotape of her switching Meg's paternity results.

Craig asks Eli what he was talking to Rosanna about. Craig and Meg learn they're having a boy and share a close moment. Meg and Craig learn there's an issue with baby's genetic testing.


GUIDING LIGHT

Bill picks up the plans for a new Main Street and walks off, leaving Doris perplexed. Bill watches as Billy gets lead away by a cop. Lizzie insists Billy go to rehab. When reporters show up to storm Billy, Bill comes to his unexpected rescue, leading him out the back door. Bill and Billy make inroads with a rare moment of closeness. Then Lizzie shows up, questioning Bill's motives and ready to take Billy to rehab.

Bill has a business proposal for Buzz, but Buzz couldn't be less interested. Ava tells Bill she might have more info for him to use as leverage. Vanessa asks Bill to join them at Cross Creek for an intervention for Billy. Bill shows up and is suspicious when Billy steps out of the corner and reveals this intervention is for Bill. Bill and Billy get into it and infuriated Bill storms out. Ava tells Bill she has some info that'll hurt Ashlee that he should leak to the press.  A drink leads to them making loving, but not before Ava tells Bill she thinks the election was fixed. As he leaves he runs smack into Lizzie, who can see Ava lying in his bed. Lizzie can't believe Bill is still so cold and storms off

Manipulative Bill blackmails Buzz: do business with me or I'll expose that the election was fixed. Buzz pays Billy a visit with a specific message: You get rid of your vengeful son, or I will.
