A wind-blasted wildfire tore through the city of L.A.'s northern foothills Nov. 15, 2008, as it destroyed an untold number of homes. The fire was the third major blaze in Southern California as firefighters continued to battle a wildfire that destroyed more than 110 homes in Santa Barbara. Yet another fire in Orange County burned at least a dozen buildings.
