Bay Bridge Labor Day Construction Project

The work to cut away a bridge section and replace it with a prefabricated bypass section, which necessitated the closure of the bridge over Labor Day Weekend, was the most complex procedure on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge replacement project. The Bay Bridge reopened the morning of September 8th, after crews managed to complete emergency repairs to crack in the bridge discovered during retrofit work.
