San Francisco— DTV upgrades to Sutro Tower are complete.  All over the air televisions should be rescanned to pick up stations not currently received.  The impacted stations are:  KPIX (CBS 5), KRON, KTVU, KQED, KMTP, KCNS, KCSM, KBCW (The CW 44 Cable 12), KOFY, and KFSF.

San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose-- CBS 5 (KPIX-TV) Eyewitness News won 9 Associated Press Television-Radio Association (APTRA) awards (http://www.aptra.org)  in this year's APTRA competition for California, Nevada, Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, and Idaho. The awards were presented on June 27, 2009 at The Globe Theater, Universal Studios Hollywood.

San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose—CBS 5 and cbs5.com in partnership with the Republic of Korea have created an advertising campaign featuring 15 spots that highlight the food and culture of Korea.

San Jose-Oakland-San Francisco—CBS 5 (KPIX-TV) Eyewitness News is # 1 at Noon and 11pm  Monday through Friday and Monday through Sunday for the May 2009 sweep period according to  Nielsen Media Research.  Dana King and Ken Bastida co-anchor the CBS 5 Eyewitness News at 11pm, Monday through Friday, which has consistently ranked as the #1 newscast in either households and/or the key adults 25-54 demographic since February 2003, winning 14 out of the last 17 major sweep periods and 11 out of the last 12 non-Olympic impacted sweep periods. 

Ann Notarangelo anchors the CBS 5 Eyewitness News at 11pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Juliette Goodrich anchors the CBS 5 Eyewitness News at Noon.

San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose--CBS 5 won more Emmys than any other station with 13 at the 38th Annual Northern California Area Emmy Awards Presentation on May 16th at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.    Investigative reporter Anna Werner tied for the most honored local individual by taking home four statuettes.  Robert Genolio and Abby Sterling received three individual trophies each.

San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose --  CBS 5, in partnership with City National Bank and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) San Francisco Chapter, has created and will broadcast a series of vignettes featuring women-owned businesses in the Bay Area.

Currently, nearly 42 percent of privately held firms in California are owned by women and CBS 5 has selected 13 local owned businesses that will be profiled in 60-, 30-, and 15-second spots that will be broadcast during a six-week campaign on CBS 5 and will also be available on CBS5.com/hervision .
