Sliding Houses Threaten Oakland Woman's Home

OAKLAND (CBS 5) ― For years, very little has been done about three condemned properties perched on an Oakland hillside that threatens a home below. On Tuesday night, the homeowner went to City Hall in a last-ditch effort to save her home.

In February, 2006 a landslide pulled the homes from their foundations and piled tons of dirt onto Ying Gong's home. Gong is angry at the City of Oakland because they initially approved a plan to demolish the sliding homes, then rejected the plan saying the demolition didn't meet city standards.
