Former eBay chief executive Meg Whitman has added another $15 million to her campaign for governor.
The donation announced by her campaign officials Monday brings Whitman's personal contributions to $19 million in her run for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.
According to her campaign, Whitman also raised $6.7 million in other donations by the June 30 filing deadline.
In what is turning out to be a well-financed race, Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner has contributed $4.2 million of his own money into his campaign.
While Whitman earned her fortune at eBay, Poizner created and later sold a Silicon Valley-based wireless firm for $1 billion.
He has pulled in another $1.2 million in contributions.
