Large Number Of Undecideds On Propositions 7, 11
SACRAMENTO (CBS 5) ―
Even with only a few days to go before the election, a new statewide Field Poll shows a large number of California's likely voters haven't made up their minds about some of the ballot initiatives.
One-quarter of likely voters said they are still undecided about Proposition 11, which has had very high-profile support from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It would take the power to draw legislative-district boundaries away from the legislature and give it to a multi-partisan citizens commission.
Forty-five-percent of likely voters are in favor with 30-percent against on Proposition 7, which would require California utilities to generate more of their electricity from renewable sources, while 18-percent of likely voters are still undecided.
That's actually a higher percentage than in a previous poll three months ago.
Likely voters who expressed an opinion are almost evenly divided, with 43-percent saying they will vote no and 39-percent voting yes. That's a big change from July, when 63-percent said they were in favor of Proposition 7.
