Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Menlo Park, endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president on Wednesday.
Eshoo is the second Silicon Valley congresswoman to endorse the Illinois senator. Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-San Jose, endorsed Obama earlier this month.
"Barack Obama inspires me. He gives me hope. He appeals to the best in us and in doing so, he restores the sense of idealism that brought me to public service. He challenges us to dream bigger and reach farther," Eshoo said in a statement.
"We are proud to have the support of Congresswoman Eshoo who shares my commitment to government transparency and quality, affordable healthcare," Obama said in a statement.
The Obama campaign also announced Wednesday that Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., will campaign for Obama in Oakland on Friday and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., will do the same on Saturday in San Francisco and San Jose.
