Minimum security prisoners at San Quentin are helping the Marin Humane Society through its Pen Pals program.

Some of the inmates at San Quentin State Prison are getting a special privilege: they're taking care of pets that need some extra attention.
Minimum security prisoners who also belong to the prison's fire department are helping the Marin Humane Society through its Pen Pals program. San Quentin is the first men's prison in California to have such a program.
