2 Mountain Lions Spotted At San Mateo County Park

San Mateo County (BCN) ― Two mountain lions were seen entering the Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve in San Mateo County Thursday, according to the county Office of Emergency Services.

The mountain lions were spotted entering the park from the west side around 1:30 p.m., OES district coordinator Steve Mahaley said.

Mahaley said he received a call from a San Mateo County sheriff's patrol unit about the sighting.

Mountain lions are reported a few times a year in the county, but seeing two at one time is unusual, Mahaley said.

Residents in the Emerald Hills area, as well as in Woodside and San Carlos, are advised to be aware of the sighting and use caution, Mahaley said.
