Calaveras Woman Mauled By Neighbor's Buffalo

CALAVERAS (CBS) ― A Calaveras County woman has allegedly been attacked by a buffalo right across the street from her home.

Tracy Whalen was in a Modesto hospital Friday recovering from lacerations and wounds to her legs. Her mother, Luella Thompson, claims she was attacked by the neighbor's buffalo on Sunday.

"She's doing horrible, it's the most horrible thing you have ever had to see," said Luella. "I want it stopped before a child gets hurt."

CBS tried to reach the man Tracy's mother claims owns the buffalo, but we were unsuccessful in our attempts.

No word on how long Tracy will have to stay in the hospital.
