A passenger on board a Melbourne-bound Qantas jet has told an Australian broadcaster the flight was forced to return to Adelaide's airport because of a mechanical problem.
Passenger Rocco Russo told Australian Broadcasting Corp. Radio that he heard a rattling noise about 10 minutes after the plane took off Monday night. Russo says the pilot told passengers there was a problem with a door closing above the plane's wheel.
Qantas did not immediately respond to a request for comment early Tuesday morning.
The incident comes just three days after a Qantas jumbo jet made an emergency landing in the Philippines with a hole the size a small car in its fuselage.
