Woman Critical After Hit By SF Muni Streetcar

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― A pedestrian is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a streetcar in San Francisco Wednesday.

A San Francisco Municipal Railway spokesman says the woman was hit by an N-Judah at Judah Street and 30th Avenue in the city's Sunset District shortly before 9 a.m. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospita, Muni spokesman Judson True said.

The circumstances of the accident were not immediately known. The operator has been placed on non-driving status and given a drug test, following standard operating procedure.

The accident disrupted light rail vehicle service on the N-Judah line for about an hour after the collision, True said.
