Masked Suspects Hold Up WaMu Bank In Fairfield

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

FAIRFIELD (BCN) ― Two masked suspects robbed a Washington Mutual bank in Fairfield at gunpoint Wednesday morning, police said.

The robbery occurred around 9:20 a.m. at a bank branch located at 5095 Business Center Drive.

The robbers ordered all customers and employees to lie on the ground. One suspect took money from cash drawers before both fled, Fairfield police Sgt. Joe Allio said.

The suspects ran to a newer-model dark green or black Honda Civic with tinted windows and drove away east through the parking lot, Allio said.

Both suspects are described as black males wearing black clothing, gloves and ski masks. One is 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, police said.

The other is about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build, and was carrying a black bag, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call police at (707) 428-7300 or Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-STOP. There is a reward up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest, police said.
