Vandals Damage 19 Cars In Peninsula Neighborhood
SAN MATEO COUNTY (BCN) ―
At least 19 vehicles were damaged early Friday morning allegedly by occupants in a truck who were spotted throwing rocks at the windows of parked cars in the Emerald Lake Hills area of San Mateo County, a sheriff's sergeant said.
The vandalism was first reported shortly before 3 a.m. when residents alerted 911 that they heard glass breaking, according to San Mateo County sheriff's Sgt. Linda Gibbons.
Other witnesses reported seeing a truck with at least two juveniles inside throwing rocks at the windows of parked cars, Gibbons said.
Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the truck, described as either a white Toyota Tundra or a gray Ford F-150.
Streets affected by the vandalism include Sunset Way, Wilmington Way, California Way, Handley Trail, Paradise Way, Lakeview Way and Bayview Way, Gibbons said.
