SF Motorcyclist Killed After 2 Vehicles Crash

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ― A 37-year-old man died Sunday morning after riding his motorcycle into a person standing in a lane of traffic following an earlier accident, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The first accident occurred when two vehicles collided at about 1:30 a.m. on southbound U.S. Highway 101 south of the Cesar Chavez Street onramp, the CHP reported.

The accident blocked the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of traffic, according to the CHP.

The drivers exited their vehicles and were standing in the No. 1 lane exchanging information when the second accident occurred, according to the CHP.

Michael Perry Williams, of Savannah, Georgia, was riding his motorcycle at an unknown speed in the No. 1 lane approaching the stopped vehicles, according to the CHP.

Williams' motorcycle did not stop, and he struck one of the drivers from the previous collision, the CHP reported.

The motorcycle slid onto its side into the rear of a vehicle and ejected Williams, leaving him on the asphalt, the CHP reported.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
