VACAVILL (CBS 5 / BCN) ― A six-alarm grass fire that broke out early Friday morning near Vacaville has been fully contained, Cal Fire said.

A Cal Fire dispatcher said units were being released from the scene late Friday afternoon and the fire was contained at 6 p.m.

The 200-acre "Cherry Fire" burned off Interstate Highway 80 between Fairfield and Vacaville.

The fire threatened 50 homes but only a barn burned, Cal Fire said. The fire was reported near Lagoon Valley Regional Park around 1:30 a.m.

The blaze drew a response from 150 firefighters.
