UC Students Protest Planned Budget Cuts In Sacto

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― Students from the University of California were voicing their concerns in front of the state Capitol Monday over the governor's proposed budget, which would make major cuts to public education.

They say $330 million cut is too much for the UC system.

A handful of Democratic lawmakers and office holders were slated to attend the event.

State Senator Jeff Denham also planned to show up. The Merced Republican is the target of a recall campaign funded by Democrats.
