Contra Costa Co. Man Hit By Train, Lives
CONTRA COSTA (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
A 57-year-old man survived being struck by a freight train Monday afternoon in an unincorporated area of Contra Costa County, police said.
The man told officers he was looking for his dog when a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train hit him at about 1:30 p.m., said Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee.
The accident happened west of Solano Way near Martinez.
The victim suffered head injuries, Lee said. His current condition is unknown.
No other injuries were reported.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway police are investigating the accident, Lee said.
