Man Killed In I-880 Crash Identified

MILPITAS (BCN) ― The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office has identified 52-year-old Steven Abbett as the man killed Tuesday night in a crash on northbound U.S. Interstate Highway 880 in Milpitas.

Abbett, a Castro Valley resident, was killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred at about 5:15 p.m. south of Great Mall Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The closure of two lanes affected traffic for nearly five hours while CHP investigated the crash, CHP officer Robert Haven said.
