Major Bay Area Traffic Incidents Due To Storms

(CBS 5) Heavy storms have impacted Bay Area freeways, highways and bridges. Heavy rains and high winds are making travel across bridges treacherous for vehicles. Localized flooding and mudslides can occur anytime blocking ramps, lanes and shoulders.

Current Bay Area road conditions:

Alameda County
Route 84: All lanes now open.

Contra Costa County
Interstate 580: Richmond-San Rafael Bridge has reopened after being closed both directions for six hours due to overturned big rigs caused by high winds.

Marin County
Interstate 580: Richmond-San Rafael Bridge has reopened after being closed both directions for six hours due to overturned big rigs caused by high winds.





US 101: Northbound and southbound have re-opened.

Highway 1: Now open at Stinson Beach to Bolinas turnoff.

Napa County
Travel restricted: White Sulphur Springs Road, Soda Canyon Road, Coombsville Road and Conn Valley Road.

Closed: Silverado Trail between Larkmead and Dunaweal lanes due to downed power lines. Silverado Trail between Skellenger Lane and state Highway 128 due to flooding.

San Francisco County
U.S. 101: Northbound connector toward Golden Gate Bridge to southbound 1/19th Avenue closed due to hole in the roadway.

San Mateo County

Highway 92: All lanes have now reopened.

El Camino Real: Southbound lanes in Burlingame between Trousdale and Murchison closed due to flooding.

Daly City: Intersection of 90th & Sullivan & Juniperro Serra closed due to falling debris.

Santa Clara County
U.S. 101: Southbound at Highway 85 Mountain View, 2 right lanes are closed due to potholes.

Highway 17:
Northbound just south of the Summit, closed due to downed tree.  Southbound closed at Highway 9 due to a mudslide and flooding; detour is southbound 101 to westbound 129.

Route 35: Trees blocking lanes one mile north of Route 9. One lane is open.

Route 9: Southbound lane closed at Pierce Road due to mudslide; one way traffic control. Closed at 35 due to downed power lines and trees.

Solano County
Interstate 80: All lanes have reopened.

Highway 505: Southbound closed north of Midway Road due to flooding.

Sonoma County

Highway 1: Closed at Timber Cove due to downed power lines.

Route 12/121: Closed at Schellville due to flooding.

The Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works is
reporting other 23 localized road closures or limited access because of flooding or downed power lines.

BART
System-wide 5-10 minute delays.
