Oakland Raiders star Tommy Kelly, one of the NFL's highest paid defensive players, was arrested for DUI after Sunday's win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Word of Kelly's arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence first came from the celebirty news Web site TMZ.com.
He was arrested in Oakland Sunday night after the team returned home from Kansas City.
TMZ reported that the 300-pound defensive tackle posted bail and was released from police custody following a traffic stop.
Kelly, 27, has played with Oakland since 2004 after graduating from Mississippi State University.
The Raiders signed him to the largest contract ever given to a defensive tackle on the eve of free agency last year.
It was a seven-year, $50.5 million contract with $18.125 million in guarantees and $ 25.125 million in the first three years.
The Oakland Raiders had no immediate comment about the incident.
