Turlock Cop, Teacher Accused Of Teen Sex Assault

TURLOCK (BCN) ― A Turlock police officer and a school teacher have been arrested as part of an investigation into the repeated sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.

The girl was assaulted while working on patrol with the officer, then later by her teacher in separate incidents at school, Turlock police said Friday.

Police Chief Gary Hampton said the abuse took place over eight months. He called the conduct egregious and apologized to the community on behalf of the department.

He said the girl's mother reported the incidents to police after noticing changes in her daughter's behavior.

The Pitman High School teacher and the police officer were arrested Friday.
