Blood Found, Teen Missing From San Mateo Home
SAN MATEO (BCN) ―
Sheriff's deputies responding to a report of armed men at a home in an unincorporated part of San Mateo County discovered a missing teenage boy and blood in the residence's yard, a lieutenant said Wednesday.
The 911 call of two armed men at the residence in the 2800 block of Westmoreland Avenue in unincorporated Redwood City's North Fair Oaks neighborhood came in around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to sheriff's Lt. Ray Lunny.
Responding deputies learned 17-year-old Luis Antonio Ortiz had been babysitting his two younger brothers when he disappeared. The deputies found blood in the yard and on some of Ortiz's personal property, Lunny said.
Family and friends of Ortiz said he is not involved in any gangs or other high-risk lifestyles, according to Lunny.
Ortiz is about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 145 pounds, and has brown eyes, brown hair and an olive complexion.
Anyone who has information about Ortiz's whereabouts is asked to call the 24-hour San Mateo County communications line at (650) 363-4911.
