2 Teen Inmates Escape Facility Near La Honda

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch
LA HONDA (BCN) ― Two teenage inmates remain missing after taking unauthorized leave from a low-security juvenile detention facility in San Mateo County on Monday morning.

The boys were reported as "walkaways" at approximately 5 a.m. at Log Cabin Ranch, a juvenile rehabilitation and education facility near La Honda that is run by the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department, San Mateo County Sheriff Lt. Ray Lunny said.

The minors are not considered dangerous or are not thought to be armed, Lunny said.

One of the missing is described as a 17-year-old black male wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.

His companion is a 16-year-old black male also wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans and 5 feet 9 inches tall.

Anyone who sees the boys is asked to call 911 or contact the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office at (650) 363-4049.
