Teen Charged In Peninsula Cab Driver's Death

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN MATEO (BCN) ― Prosecutors say a 16-year-old boy involved in a car crash that killed a cab driver has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, and that they will seek to try him as an adult.

The San Mateo County District Attorney's office says the unidentified teenager drove his car through a red light and broadsided the taxi.

The collision killed 48-year-old Michael Prescott.

The district attorney's office will request a hearing to argue that the case should be tried in adult court.

The boy will be arraigned Thursday.
