 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SUNNYVALE (BCN) ― Two vehicle theft suspects were arrested in Sunnyvale early Monday morning after a two-hour police search with canine units located the second individual, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Officers were alerted that someone had broken into a vehicle and taken property from it in the 1300 block of Sandia Avenue.

The caller provided a vehicle description, and shortly after, an officer located the car.

The officer stopped the vehicle on Great America Parkway off of state Highway 237, according to DPS officials. The driver was detained and arrested, but a passenger fled.

Officers set up a perimeter and brought in canine units to search the area.

No roads were blocked off, and at about 5 a.m., officers located the second suspect.

Both suspects were in custody.
