Employee Ideas Help Stanford Hospital Save Money

PALO ALTO (CBS 5) ― Stanford Hospital has come up with a unique way to cut costs.

The medical center asked staff for suggestions to lower expenses. The ideas are adding up to millions in savings.

One employee noticed the big dumpsters were rarely full. Switching to smaller dumpsters and a reduced trash collection schedule saved the hospital $87,000 in the past year.
