2 Santa Rosa Men Jailed For Stabbing Teen

SANTA ROSA (BCN) ― Two Santa Rosa men were arrested Friday afternoon in unincorporated Sonoma County near Roseland for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old boy who was also later arrested on a no-bail warrant, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department.

Alfonzo Guiterrez, 18, and Julio Vargas, 20, were arrested for the stabbing, which was reported at about 3:15 p.m. at Roseland Self Storage, a business located at 555 Roseland Ave., according to the sheriff's department.

Arriving deputies did not find the victim, but were told by witnesses that someone had been stabbed in the leg and was beat up by two suspects. The witnesses provided descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle with a license plate number, according to the sheriff's department.

Investigators went to the address listed on the DMV registration for the suspect vehicle and waited for the suspects to arrive. Guiterrez and Vargas arrived shortly afterward, and were confronted by the deputies.

Guiterrez brandished a knife at deputies, but he was arrested along with Vargas without further incident, according to the sheriff's department.

The knife was collected as evidence and appeared to have blood on the blade, according to the sheriff's department.

At about 4:15 p.m., the 17-year-old boy arrived at a local hospital with a laceration to his leg.

He was treated and released to the sheriff's department, but was uncooperative in the investigation and was eventually booked into juvenile hall on a no-bail warrant, according to the sheriff's department.

Guiterrez was arrested for attempted murder, conspiracy, resisting arrest, and brandishing a weapon on a peace officer. Vargas was arrested for attempted murder and conspiracy, according to the sheriff's department.
