Car Plows Into South SF Apartment; Family Hurt
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ―
A 13-year-old girl and her parents were hospitalized Tuesday evening after a vehicle crashed into their South San Francisco home, police said.
The crash happened at about 6:15 p.m. when a driver apparently lost control in the 3800 block of Callan Boulevard and veered off the roadway and into an apartment, police said.
A family was in the home's living room at the time of the crash and a 13-year-old girl suffered major injuries and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, police said.
Her mother, father and the driver of the vehicle were also hospitalized, but had less severe injuries.
The apartment building was structurally damaged in the crash, rendering units on the first and second floors uninhabitable, police said. Water and gas service was disrupted throughout the complex.
The American Red Cross responded to help the displaced residents find temporary housing.
