Several Sonoma County Contests Too Close To Call

 Complete Election Results
SONOMA COUNTY (BCN) ― The results of several election contests in Sonoma County are still too close to call with about 12,500 provisional and mail-in ballots still to be counted as of Thursday morning.

Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Janice Atkinson said that number does not include all the mail-in ballots left at the polls.

Efren Carrillo leads Rue Furch by 670 votes for the 5th District county supervisors seat.

Supervisor Valerie Brown leads Will Pier by a more comfortable margin of 1,105 votes in the 1st District.

In Cloverdale, Augustine Gus Wolter leads Luciano Toninato by 128 votes for the second available set on the city council.

The City Council race in Cotati is even closer with only 24 votes separating Mike Kurvers from George Barich for the third seat.

In Rohnert Park, Joseph Callinan leads John Borba by 157 votes for the third seat on the council and second place finisher Jake Mackenzie leads Borba by only 163 votes.

Current results show 79.7 percent of the county's 248,122 registered voters cast ballots as of Tuesday night. Atkinson anticipated a voter turnout of about 90 percent. The record was 89.4 percent in November 2004, Atkinson said.
