Graduation season is around the corner and this year it will be particularly special for San Jose State students sent to internment camps during World War II.
68 years later, San Jose State is trying to reconnect with former students of Japanese ancestry. The plan is part of Assembly Bill 37, which requires state universities to find as many students as possible and award them degrees they would have earned. Students who have since died would also be recognized through surviving family members.
