San Jose police arrested three teens Tuesday in the shooting of a 12-year-old boy and the stabbing of his 13-year-old friend while trick-or-treating Halloween night.
A 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys were taken into custody in connection with the incident on Saturday night, Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.
He did not release their names or provide other details about their arrests because they are juveniles.
The victims were out trick-or-treating when they were accosted by gang members shortly after 10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Story Road, according to police. The 12-year-old was shot and his 13-year-old friend stabbed when a fight erupted.
Police said the victims, who have not been identified, are not gang members.
The boy who was shot remained hospitalized Tuesday in grave condition, while his 13-year-old friend who was stabbed was recovering after being released from the hospital.
