San Jose Trick-Or-Treaters Shot, Stabbed

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch
SAN JOSE (BCN) ― A 12-year-old boy remains in "grave condition" Monday following an attack in San Jose on Halloween night that left another boy injured, a police sergeant said.

Officers went to the 2000 block of Story Road around 10:05 p.m. Saturday on reports of a shooting and found the 12-year-old boy suffering a gunshot wound and a 13-year-old boy who had been stabbed, Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.

The two friends were trick-or-treating when they were attacked by at least two suspects, Lopez said, adding that the motive appears to be gang-related. The victims do not have any gang affiliation, he said.

The shooting victim remained in grave condition at a local hospital Monday and the stabbing victim suffered a moderate injury and is expected to survive, according to Lopez.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Police Department's homicide unit at (408) 277-5283.
