Concerns Over Water Safety At Pleasanton Lake

PLEASANTON (CBS 5) ― Shadow Cliffs Lake in Pleasanton is a popular place for swimmers. But is there something nasty in the water most people don't know about? CBS 5 heard from viewers who complained that the water at Shadow Cliffs was not safe to swim in.

They forwarded a copy of a water quality chart posted on the bulletin board near the lake's parking lot. It shows that totals for bacteria exceed the daily maximum. The results show coliform, fecal bacteria and E. coli bacteria off the chart. But East Bay Regional Parks officials say the lake is safe for swimming.
