 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / BCN) ― Four boys are suspected in the fatal stabbing early Thursday morning of another boy in San Francisco's Excelsior District, according to police.

The 14-year-old victim was identified as Ivan Miranda, of San Francisco, according to the medical examiner's office.

Police believe Miranda was stabbed during a confrontation with four other teens. He was found wounded in the street shortly after 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Persia Avenue and Madrid Street, police said.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died.

Police said Miranda and a girl were approached by the four boys in the street.

The girl called out to Miranda, who was a half-block away, telling him to run, and pushed away one of the suspects who tried to rob her.

The suspects fled and the girl found Miranda lying in the street with stab wounds, police said.

No arrests had been made in the case.

The stabbing was the 59th homicide reported by San Francisco police this year.
