Pedestrians Hit At SF State Said To Be Improving
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ―
A 64-year-old San Francisco mother and her 36-year-old daughter remained hospitalized Monday after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night while crossing the road in the city's Park Merced neighborhood.
The women were walking in a crosswalk across Holloway Avenue at Arellano Avenue, on the San Francisco State University campus, around 6:30 p.m. when they were hit.
Both women were hospitalized with serious injuries. The daughter's wounds were considered life threatening, but her condition improved Monday, according to police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams.
"She's still badly injured but there was some improvement over the night," he said.
The driver, a 72-year-old San Francisco woman, stopped at the scene and was not arrested or cited, Williams said.
The incident is still under investigation.
