SF House Of The Future Affordable, Eco-Friendly

by Jeffrey Schaub
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― It's the greenest of green houses, with a garden on the roof, fountains operated by rainwater, and every last surface made from completely recycled or from sustainable materials. The home is designed to have a low environmental impact, and a low carbon footprint.

Designed by acclaimed green architect Michele Kaufmann, the MKLotus house is on display in San Francisco. The home is only 725 square feet, yet feels much larger. The prefab home sells for under $200,000.
