SF Car Crash Kills Actor Benjamin Bratt's Nephew

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― Actor Benjamin Bratt's nephew was one of two men killed when a stolen car being sought by San Francisco police broadsided his vehicle at a Haight-Ashbury intersection, authorities said Wednesday.

Kristopher Bratt, 20, of Novato was the oldest son of the former ``Law & Order'' star's brother, said Ina Treciokas, the actor's spokeswoman.

The stolen Saturn allegedly driven by Richard Gosnell, 22, of San Francisco sped through a red light at the intersection of Divisadero and Page streets and slammed into Bratt's Chevrolet Cavalier early Tuesday as officers tried to pull Gosnell over, SFPD Capt. John Ehrlich said.

Kristopher Bratt, a laborer at an engineering firm, died instantly, authorities said. Alfonso Felipe Cortez, 36, who was also in Bratt's car, died a short time later at San Francisco General Hospital.

Gosnell, who suffered minor injuries, was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run and several other offenses, according to police.

A passenger in the stolen car, Joshua Wilson, 22, of San Francisco, faces one count of stolen vehicle and one count of possessing stolen property.
