Hayward Man Faces Sex Trafficking Charges
HAYWARD (AP) ―
A Hayward man has been charged with forcing girls to work as prostitutes in California and Arizona.
A federal grand jury indicted Aaron Brown on sex trafficking charges on Thursday in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors say the 28-year-old recruited three girls and forced them to prostitute. He's also accused of advertising the girls' services online and beating at least one of them.
A judge has ordered Brown held without bond ahead of his arraignment next week. Brown faces a mandatory life-without-parole prison sentence if convicted because of a previous conviction for sex with a minor.
Brown's lawyer, Nadine Hettle, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
