Sex Offender Arrested For Prowling In Sausalito
SAUSALITO (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
Sausalito police arrested a homeless convicted sex offender Tuesday who may have been trying to break into a house in the 100 block of Third Street.
Sausalito police and the Marin County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident at about 7:20 p.m. and began searching the area, Sgt. Kurtis Skoog said.
Approximately five minutes later, a resident heard someone running across her roof in the 400 block of Valley Street, Skoog said.
Cpl. Tom Georges and Officer Mike Davis contacted 31-year-old Derrick Sanders, who matched the description of the man seen on Third Street, Skoog said.
Sanders was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, prowling and violating the terms of his probation, Skoog said. He was booked into the Marin County jail on $10,000 bail.
