Free Santa Rosa Summer Art & Games For Kids
SANTA ROSA (BCN) ―
Children with time on their hands this summer and parents without it are invited to take advantage of the Santa Rosa's free Summer Playground Program.
The program is offered by the Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Department's Neighborhood Services.
The informal, drop-in program is for children entering grades 1-7 this fall.
Children may sign up anytime before the program ends July 23.
There are 10 playgrounds this summer.
Morning sessions between 9 a.m. and noon are offered at Coffey Park, Rincon Valley Park, Village Green Park and Gray's Meadow Apartments.
Afternoon sessions between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. are available at Finley Community Park, Northwest Community Park, Hidden Valley Park, Southwest Community Park, South Davis Park and at Kawana Elementary School.
The playgrounds are not available on Wednesdays.
The program offers children active games and art projects in a fun, safe environment and positive adult role models.
The intent is to offer children an opportunity to stay engaged in something positive while school is not in session.
