Man Shot In Head Outside Santa Clara Karaoke Club

A man in his early 20s was shot in his head Tuesday morning as he was leaving a Santa Clara karaoke club at closing time, Santa Clara police Lt. Mike Sellers said.

At 2:53 a.m., officers went to the 3300 block of El Camino Real on reports of a fight. Upon arrival, police were told that a man was down in the parking lot of Camino Karaoke at 3378 El Camino Real.

Officers located the victim suffering a gunshot wound to his head and transported him to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition, Sellers said.

The victim had been inside the karaoke club prior to the shooting, however it has not been determined whether the suspect or suspects had been in the business, according to Sellers.

Detectives are interviewing other customers who were at the location at the time of the shooting, Sellers said.

The motive of the shooting is under investigation and no suspect information was immediately available.
