Fire Damages Supermarket In San Lorenzo
SAN LORENZO (CBS 5 / KCBS) ―
Firefighters in San Lorenzo spent most of Sunday mopping up from a fire that did a great deal of damage to a supermarket.
The fire broke out around 9 a.m. in a strip mall on Channel Street that houses the Pacific Ranch Supermarket.
"I heard on the radio that there was a fire going on in San Lorenzo, so I ran down here to see what actually happened. It seems to have started on the inside. I don't see any damage on the outside," said supermarket owner Mike Jabers. "Maybe just faulty equipment or something, but we are waiting to find out."
The market was closed at the time the fire broke out and there were no injuries reported.
Alameda County Fire Battalion Chief Dan O'Hare said there were no indications that the blaze was arson.
