San Jose Strip Mall Fire Damages 1 Business
SAN JOSE (BCN) ―
Firefighters Friday morning remained at the scene of a fire that broke out in a San Jose strip mall, a dispatcher said.
Fire crews responded to several reports of smoke and flames at the Eastridge Mall at 3062 Story Road at around 4:45 a.m., a San Jose Fire Department dispatcher said.
The two-alarm blaze was mostly contained to one business in the mall, the dispatcher said, though a second business was threatened before a sprinkler system successfully extinguished any spreading flames.
The fire was declared under control at around 5:45 a.m., the dispatcher said, and officials remained at the scene at 6:30 a.m. conducting an investigation.
