Police were investigating the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy outside his home in south San Jose on Tuesday night.
Officer Jermaine Thomas said the stabbing was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of Comanche Drive.
The victim, whose name has not been released, died of his stab wounds at the scene, Thomas said.
Police hadn't identified any suspects. Investigators said there was no immediate evidence to indicate that the stabbing was gang-related.
The killing came the same night community members met to discuss a Halloween night attack on two boys in which a 12-year-old was shot in the head and a 13-year-old was stabbed.
Four suspects were arrested in that incident which police said was gang-related.
